What would you do to change the style currently being used to assess students?

I think it's ridiculous that performance over here is measured in terms of how much information a student can absorb and regurgitate in a fifteen minute period. It encourages "info binging," learning and forgetting for the sake of the short term, and can't possibly build skills that will be applicable in the workforce. Additionally, hands on learners and similar students will undoubtedly be tagged as "underperforming" based on this rubric, when in fact they simply aren't wired to learn that way.
